This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you simply cannot miss when visiting New York! The booking process is very simple and straightforward. The organization on-site is incredible, strictly following all safety measures and protocols (you really have nothing to fear). They even provided us with special safety holders for our phones and camera so they couldn't fall off under any circumstances—which is crucial on doors-off flights, as the wind force outside is extremely strong. Getting to the heliport from central NYC is quite easy: you take the subway, hop on the PATH train from Penn Station / Madison Square Garden (MSG) to get across to the New Jersey side, and once you arrive at the station, you can just call an Uber/taxi for around $10–$12 to take you straight to the location. Our recommendation is to do the flight either at sunset or at night. We went for the sunset flight, though unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of a sunset due to heavy clouds and bad weather (so you definitely need a bit of luck with the conditions). It's also worth highlighting how responsive, polite, and helpful the entire staff was throughout the experience. In fact, we were particularly impressed by their customer service BEFORE our visit for two main reasons. First, when we requested a flight date change well in advance, they accommodated us immediately. Second, when our rescheduled flight had to be canceled due to bad weather, they notified us 6 hours prior—giving us plenty of notice—and seamlessly helped us reschedule for a future date. Overall, an absolute bucket-list experience, whether you go for the shorter 16-minute route (which we did) or the longer 30-minute option! P.S. Shoutout to our Pilot, Casey, for an unforgettable flight and an exceptional overall experience.
Reception, organization, the flight, everything was perfect. We booked in advance the 16’ doors off flight, but on the spot got a good proce offer for the flight extension to 30’. Honestly, we are very glad we accepted the offer since the shorter flight would feel really short. Everybody is very kind and helpful. The preparation and flight is very well organized. This may sound a bit exaggerated or sponsored but honestly this is how it was for us. It was our first helicopter flight and my companion was quite affraid. The crew helped us a lot, encouraged and we felt great. The pilot, Robert, made a great and smooth flight while also being a great host. Mick was also great for encouragement and host for the van ride to the heliport. Keep up the good work!!
Me and my brother are visiting the USA for a Holiday. New York is one of the Cities that we’re visiting. A flight in a helicopter is than the best way to see a lot of the city in once. When we came in the building we were welcomed hearty by the reception. They directed us to the right steps and showed us what the plan was. Then Mickey and Aly helped us great by helping us into our harness and with the rest of the safety instructions. Mickey brought us towards the helicopter with a great sense of humor. Shameful we forgot the name of our pilot but he was amazing, a great pilot, told us a lot about the flight and the buildings and let us take enough time to take pictures. After all it was truly an amazing experience, so thank you!
DOORS-OFF HELICOPTER RIDE > MUST DO!!! First off, a huge thank you to the high quality team who made it all possible: - Kai at reservations was super helpful and made the booking process so easy. - Jorge at check-in was incredibly kind, understanding and explained I have to watch a short safety briefing and then get hooked up to keep me safe in the helicopter. - Rammie went through the safety equipment in great detail which made me feel completely safe and showed what a professional outfit FlyNYON are. - Marco, our pilot, was an absolute legend! He made the journey truly epic and helped create a core lifetime memory. Location: I took the F train (orange line) from Rockefeller Centre. You can also get the M train from there as well (orange line). Stop at 14 St. Then transfer to the PATH train to Journal Square which is easy, affordable and much faster — train costs about $6 compared to an expensive Uber [Uber was asking about a $130]. From Journal Square then got an Uber for about $25 which gets you right to the location. The flight: As for the flight itself, I went with the doors-off option which you must do and upgraded to the 30-minute ride on the day. Seeing the New York skyline was absolutely brilliant and worth every single penny! Flying over Central Park is a memory that will live with me forever and getting up close to the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge was unbelievable. Of all the things I did on my trip, this was easily number one! Don't skip on this and FlyNYON are a great company to deal with and all their team is amazing!
